Andy Butler
Andrew John Lesley Butler
After a few jobs in the motor trade at the start of his working life, by the early 1960s Andy started fishing from Wheeler’s Bay after building a boat with Dave Wheeler.
With this wife, Andy went on to set up a business as a commercial fisherman, from Battery Bay in St Lawrence. After a bad storm in 1989 where they lost everything in the Bay,
Andy joined the Countryside Section of the Council, which was short-lived after a job with the National Trust came up in the South Wight. He remained there until medical retirement in 2003 but was also involved with the Ventnor Coastguard for 19 years.
