Tony has worked on the water all his life, starting out in the Merchant Navy, he travelled the world, including the Canadian Arctic, Singapore and Penang.
He’s been an with inspector the RNLI, and had helped set up the British Rail Seaspeed SR-N6 catamaran operation which took passengers from the end of Ryde Pier to the end of Portsmouth Pier.
Tony joined Hovertravel in 1970 after being made redundant from an American manufacturing company. Luckily he had an amphibious license and was able to start working with Hovertravel the following week.
After Hovertravel, Tony also did stint with Red Funnel on their hydrofoil vessel from Cowes.
