Ah yes, I mean when I started young, we didn’t have anything. Now, if we’re sailing in the Solent or in the river, we have to wear buoyancy aids.

Now a buoyancy aid is designed to keep you afloat and your head above the water if you’re conscious.

If you go in the water unconscious with a buoyancy aid your head can fall below the water so you have to wear a full lifejacket which keeps your head out of the water.
